In light of the ongoing impact of coronavirus outbreak, we would like to communicate the following updates.

Embassy Hotline

The Embassy has set up a hotline for queries related to consular services, travel and other related issues during these unprecedented circumstances. The line is open 24/7 for Azerbaijani and UK nationals.

We strongly recommend that Azerbaijani nationals in the UK closely follow and observe the UK health authorities’ advice with respect to the ongoing outbreak, including social distancing.

Visa Applications

Since Azerbaijan's e-visa services have been suspended effective from 12 March 2020 for 45 days, UK nationals will not be able to apply online to obtain Azerbaijani visa. Please submit visa applications to Azerbaijan Visa Application Centre (VAC) in London and also note recent changes to the application process.

Consular Services

Please be advised that in consideration of World Health Organisation's guidelines for coronavirus outbreak as well as the Azerbaijani and British health authorities' advice, we have taken measures with respect to social distancing and minimise physical contacts.

In this respect, the consular section of the Embassy is closed until further notice. All consular requests need to be made by email.  Please expect some delay in receiving reply to your requests because of the high volume of email requests as a result of disruptions of the ongoing outbreak on the consular operations.

London-Baku-London Flights and Quarantine Policy

Please note that currently Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) continues to operate London-Baku-London regular flights as normal. Given that this is a fast-changing situation, any possible changes to flight plans will be communicated in due course.

All passengers arriving at Baku Heydar Aliyev International Airport will now be quarantined from 21 March 2020. UK nationals will be quarantined at Olympic Village in Baku for minimum 7 days. Should the quarantined persons give two negative coronavirus tests, then they will be released after 7 days on condition that they self-quarantine for at least another seven days.
